Syria's new authorities have appointed a foreign minister, the official Syrian News Agency (SANA) reported on Saturday.
The ruling General Command appointed Asaad Hassan al-Shibani as foreign minister, SANA reported.
Reuters quoted a source in the new administration as saying that the move “comes in response to the Syrian people's desire to establish international relations that will bring peace and stability.”
No details about Shibani were provided.
