At Friday's Cabinet meeting, the Armenian government approved the funding agreement with the European Commission for the strengthening of nuclear safety, radiation protection, and radioactive waste management infrastructure in Armenia.

The purpose of this agreement—which is a 12.9-million euro technical assistance grant—is to assist the strengthening of nuclear safety, radiation protection, and radioactive waste management infrastructure in Armenia.

The respective measures will increase the safety of the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant as well.
