Hraparak daily of Armenia writes as follows, in particular: According to official sources, by the summer, Armenia and Azerbaijan will submit a joint petition regarding the dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Group [(MG)].

Although [Armenian PM] Nikol Pashinyan has stated several times that he agrees to the dissolution of the Minsk Group on one condition that the suffered peace treaty is signed. But after [Azerbaijani president Ilham] Aliyev's aggressive statements at the beginning of the year, when open threats were made to open a corridor in Syunik [Province of Armenia] by force, he [i.e. Pashinyan] caved in, hurriedly agreeing to this next demand.

Let's remind that the OSCE Minsk Group has been the only format for the settlement of the Karabakh conflict since 1992. Through the mediation of the three countries—Russia, the US, and France—of the Minsk Group, a number of options for the settlement of the conflict were submitted, in all of which Artsakh [(Nagorno-Karabakh)] were to have an independent status or equivalent to independence. Now, when Pashinyan convinces the public that the entire negotiation story was about handing over Karabakh, and when Artsakh does not exist and their homeland is less than 29 thousand square kilometers, then what is the need for this format?

In fact, the presence of the Minsk Group worries Azerbaijan because as long as the Minsk Group exists, it means that there is also the Nagorno Karabakh conflict and the Artsakh problem.

The dissolution of MG does not require a special procedure; simply, the conflicting parties must write a joint petition to the member states. And that means that Nikol Pashinyan is single-handedly putting a big tombstone on the possibility of the Artsakh state and the people of Artsakh returning to Artsakh.
