Annalena Baerbock, Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs of Germany, criticized Chancellor Olaf Scholz's restraint in approving additional military aid to Ukraine in the amount of three billion euros.

"Frankly, I'm sorry that for some politicians, getting a few quick votes in the Bundestag elections is more important than the responsibility of ensuring peace and freedom in Europe," the German foreign minister said, without directly mentioning the German chancellor, in an interview published on the Berlin Playbook podcast of Politico.

According to Baerbock, "responsible politics" means not to change one’s position depending on pre-election circumstances, Bild reports.
