A small U.S. security firm is hiring about 100 U.S. Special Forces veterans to help guard a Gaza crossing during a truce between Israel and the Palestinian group Hamas, according to a company spokesman and a hiring email seen by Reuters.
UG Solutions, a little-known company founded in 2023 in Davidson, North Carolina, is offering the veterans it hires a daily rate starting at $1,100 with a $10,000 advance, the email said.
They will work at a checkpoint at a key intersection deep in Gaza, said a company spokesman who confirmed the email's authenticity.
Several have been recruited and are already at the crossing, the spokesman said. He did not specify how many contractors were already in Gaza.
