The remittances sent to Armenia by individuals from Russia have decreased significantly, and the impact of this factor on the Armenian economy has dropped considerably. Martin Galstyan, Governor of the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA), told this to a press conference Tuesday.

Galstyan noted that a certain part of former labor migrants is working in Armenia, linking this to the fact that the country is experiencing an upswing in the construction sector.

According to the CBA chief, this is caused also by the decrease in the difference in salaries in Armenia and Russia, which is due also to the depreciation of the Russian ruble.
