The activities of the largest enterprise in Armenia, the Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine, which everyone was proud of, have been suspended. This was stated by Roman Khudoliy, General Director of the Zangezur Copper Molybdenum Combine (ZCMC) and President of the GeoProMining Group of Companies, in an interview with the provincial SYUNIK TV television.

According to Khudoliy, we are talking about the largest taxpayer in Armenia, which actually forms the state budget of the country.

“The life of the entire community and the 4,600-person collective depends on its activities,” Khudoliy said.

He noted that the activities of ZCMC were suspended due to the actions of a group of individuals. However, the director of this enterprise considered their arguments unfounded.

“The fact that any pressure on the combine is due to its enormous importance is obvious to everyone. It is obvious that various forces want to use the current situation for their own personal interests. These are forces that want to establish their control over the combine,” Khudoliy emphasized.

According to him, over the past three years, the management and team of this enterprise have done a huge amount of work. This concerns, in particular, the modernization of production, the acquisition of new equipment, strategies for increasing production, management systems, production lines, etc.

The ZCMC has been idle for the eleventh day. Its 700 employees, who have gone on strike, are demanding a decent salary increase, considering the management’s respective proposals unacceptable.
