The government made a decision at its Cabinet meeting Thursday, which envisages the establishment of a closed joint-stock company to manage the project for the construction of a new nuclear power unit (power units) in Armenia.

By the aforesaid decision, the 200 million drams (approx. US$511,000) necessary for replenishing the authorized capital (payments for shares) of the newly being established Construction of a New Nuclear Power Unit CJSC were included in the law on the state budget for 2025 adopted by the National Assembly on December 4, 2024.

These 200 million drams were initially planned to be allocated in the fourth quarter of 2025. But taking into account the importance and urgency of the implementation of the processes envisaged by this decision, this period has been moved from the fourth quarter to the first quarter of 2025.
