National Security Advisor to the President Mike Waltz said that the White House is pleased that the Europeans are taking the lead in ensuring European security, BBC reported.

According to Waltz, Europe should make more efforts in this direction.

Asked about a possible withdrawal of aid to Ukraine, Waltz said Trump is meeting with advisers and deciding what to do next. He ignored clarifying questions.

Trump's adviser also commented on the President's meeting with Vladimir Zelensky, during which there was an altercation between the two leaders.

“He could have been given economic guarantees that would have benefited Ukraine ... We're really confused as to why we were treated so hostilely,” Mike Waltz said.
