Past daily of Armenia writes as follows, in particular: As is known, the second reading of the draft on the start of the process of [Armenia] joining the European Union was postponed at the [Standing] Committee on European Integration Committee of the National Assembly [(NA)] for a period of up to two months. As reason, the technical one was noted; that is, the committee did not manage to organize the [respective] discussion and voting within the stipulated timeframe so that the matter would be put on the [NA] council’s agenda.

However, according to our information, [PM] Nikol Pashinyan is inclined to “back down” from this topic altogether, and the draft will not be submitted for NA discussion in the future. According to the newspaper’s sources, the current geopolitical rapid changes have served as the basis for such a decision. That is, it turns out that the [Armenian civic] initiative by the name  of “Eurovote” has misled more than fifty thousand [Armenian] citizens, received their signatures, and the authorities sent the draft “on foot” to the parliament, even a little impatiently, to comprehend the geopolitical developments, particularly related to the US presidential elections [last November].
