The UK government will bring military spending to 2.36% of GDP in the new fiscal year (from April 6, 2025 to April 5, 2026). This was reported by the Financial Times.

According to its information, on March 26, the head of the Ministry of Finance of the United Kingdom Rachel Reeves during a speech in the House of Commons of the British Parliament will announce an increase in the military budget by £2.2 billion ($2.9 billion), as a result of which total defense spending will amount to almost 2.4% of GDP in the next fiscal year. The funds will be taken from international humanitarian aid programs.

On February 25, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced that the country's defense spending will be raised from the current 2.3% to 2.5% of GDP by 2027. He emphasized that London plans to bring military spending to 3% of GDP in the next parliament, with elections to be held no later than August 2029.
