The United States intends to continue striking positions of the Yemeni Ansar Allah rebel Houthis for a long time to come. US President Donald Trump said this on Wednesday while answering questions from reporters at the White House.
“These strikes have been very successful; they have exceeded our wildest expectations. We hit them very hard, very successfully. And we will continue to do so for a long time to come,” the American leader said.
At the same time, Trump reacted sharply to a question regarding the scandal of the Signal messenger leak about the US military strikes on Yemen. “There was no damage because the attack that night was incredibly successful, as it was the next four or five nights. That's what should be talked about. It should have been done by the still-sleepy [Trump's predecessor in the nation's highest office] Joe Biden. But he was asleep at the wheel, except, of course, when it came to stealing money,” Trump said.
