The European Union (EU) will prepare a response to the European steel and aluminum tariffs imposed by US President Donald Trump’s administration by Wednesday, Politico reports.

The EU is likely to be ready to respond to Trump’s previous round of steel and aluminum tariffs on Wednesday, the newspaper wrote.

Europe will need additional debate on a possible response, but Politico wrote that most expect the bloc to vote on a response this week.

If approved in the vote on Wednesday, some measures will come into force on April 15, and others—a month later.

The US has imposed tariffs of 25 percent on European steel, aluminum, cars, and auto parts.
