White smoke is rising from the chimney of the Sistine Chapel at the Vatican, according to BBC News.

This means the voting process is complete and the cardinals have chosen a successor to Pope Francis.

It is not yet known who has been elected, but that will become clear when they appear on the balcony of the Sistine Chapel, probably within the hour.

This is the second day of the conclave at the Vatican, where twice already black smoke has risen over the Sistine Chapel, meaning that no decision has yet been made.
