YEREVAN. – With Armenia’s then-President Robert Kocharyan’s 2004 decree, Ara Aramyan was relieved of his duties as Urban Development Minister, Hraparak daily writes. 

“Now he has become a [ruling coalition’s Prosperous Armenia Party] PAP member, and [PAP Chairman] Gagik Tsarukyan promised to include him in the temporary spot of PAP’s proportional [election] list. In return, Aramyan was committed to secure votes for PAP from his native Charentsavan [city] and the nearby villages. Aramyan was relieved of his duties [as Urban Development Minister] because his son had fired pistol shots at Triumph Café. [So,] We can only assume the methods Aramyan will use in order to secure votes for PAP,” Hraparak writes.
