An investigation will be launched against the Istanbul court which made a ruling on the murder case of Hrant Dink, the founder and former chief editor of Istanbul’s Agos Armenian weekly, who was killed in 2007,

Turkey’s Supreme Board of Judges and Prosecutors (HSYK) is currently examining whether the verdict, which the court’s judges reached on Dink’s case, is in accordance with the law. It is noted that HSYK could launch an inquiry against the judges and the prosecutors, and as a result the judges could be either dismissed, or transferred to other work.      

The aforesaid court had ruled that there is no organized criminal group, with respect to Hrant Dink’s murder case, and, also, it had forgotten to reach a verdict on a suspect. The court’s ruling caused great discontent among the public and official circles alike.
