Vilnius and Warsaw have announced plans to hold joint military exercises in the so-called Suwałki Corridor. This was stated to reporters by Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda, who hosted Polish President Karol Nawrocki in Lithuania.

“The topic of joint exercises in this strategically important region is always a key focus for us. In the spring, we plan to conduct the next round of drills in the Suwałki Corridor,” he said.

The Suwałki Corridor is a strategically vital stretch along the Lithuania–Poland border, approximately 64 km long, bordering Russia’s Kaliningrad region and Belarus’s Grodno region. If this corridor were to be blocked, Lithuania would face land isolation from its Western NATO allies.
