Turkey aims to further strengthen cooperation with Qatar in the military and defense industries, as well as in the energy sector. This was announced by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan during his meeting with Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani as part of his official visit to the emirate.

“During the meeting, bilateral relations, as well as regional and global issues, were discussed. President Erdoğan expressed his commitment to further developing relations between Turkey and Qatar in many areas, including the military, defense industry, energy, trade, and investment,” the Turkish Communications Directorate said in a statement following the visit.

Erdoğan also emphasized that the strategic partnership between Turkey and Qatar makes a significant contribution to regional and global stability.

Commenting on the situation in the Gaza Strip, the Turkish leader stated that the two-state solution remains the only way to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. He stressed that Turkey will continue to work toward this goal.

According to Erdoğan, Turkey will support the process of Syria’s reconstruction and, in this context, will cooperate with Qatar in areas such as energy, transportation, and humanitarian assistance.

President Erdoğan visited Qatar as part of his Gulf tour. On October 22, he arrived in Oman in the second half of the day.
