According to presidential decrees, 17,180 people have been granted citizenship of the Republic of Armenia during the first nine months of 2025, which is 15.5 percent more than the same period last year. Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan announced this during the debates on the 2026 state budget draft of Armenia at the joint meeting of the standing committees of the National Assembly on Monday.
“At the same time, 3,166 people's [Armenian] citizenship was revoked. Here, we also have an increase—it amounted to 10.7 percent. However, in the overall picture, the number of people who received citizenship of the Republic of Armenia predominates,” the interior minister added.
