The international VI Eurasian Research on Modern China and Eurasia Conference has started in Yerevan.
It is organized by the China‑Eurasia Council for Political and Strategic Research (CECPSR) in Armenia, in cooperation with the Routledge Studies in Geopolitics series.
The event brings together 65 specialists — researchers, political scientists, economists, and experts from more than 20 countries.
Mher Sahakyan, Founding Director of the CECPSR in Armenia, delivered welcoming remarks.
The keynote speaker was Heiwai Tang, Director of the Asia Global Institute and Professor of Economics at the University of Hong Kong. He presented an analytical report on China’s role in global economic processes and the transformation of global interdependence.
The first day of the conference included four thematic panels covering key areas of contemporary Eurasian politics, security, and digital development.
The first panel was devoted to Eurasian geopolitics and strategic transformations. Participants discussed digital crises, energy security, and new forms of multipolarity.
The second panel, which focused on Multipolar Order 2.0, wars, and security architecture, concentrated on regional security structures and the impact of the Ukrainian conflict on interactions among global powers.
The third panel focused on cybersecurity, digitalization, and artificial intelligence. Experts discussed China’s role in shaping the digital space of Eurasia.
And the fourth panel was devoted to transport and energy corridors in the Middle East and Eurasia. Researchers from Armenia, Turkey, Spain, Uzbekistan, Iran, and Romania presented their respective analyses.
A separate panel discussion focused on Eurasian infrastructure and international corridors. Specialists discussed the Belt and Road Initiative, the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) project, and the potential of new transport routes.
