Armenian Minister of Defense Suren Papikyan on Friday received the United Kingdom (UK) Minister of State for Defense, Vernon Coaker, as well as the first British resident defense attaché to Armenia, Major Thomas Shorland Ball, at the Ministry of Defense (MoD) of Armenia.

During the meeting, the parties discussed Armenia-UK cooperation in the defense sector, the MoD informs.

Both sides positively assessed the current level of cooperation between the two countries, and expressed their readiness to further advance it. The parties emphasized the importance of the appointment of their resident defense attachés in Armenia and the UK, noting that this decision will contribute to the further expansion of bilateral defense cooperation.

A number of international and regional security topics were addressed, too.
