Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy has not yet read the US peace plan, US President Donald Trump said.

Speaking with reporters Sunday, Trump was asked what his next step would be in negotiations with Ukraine and Russia following last week’s consultations. “We have been speaking to [Russian] President [Vladimir] Putin and Ukrainian leaders, including President Zelenskyy. I am a little disappointed that President Zelenskyy hasn't read the proposal yet,” the US president responded.

He added that Russia would like to have all of Ukraine, but still agrees with the peace agreement, and the Ukrainian president’s team also supports the document. However, he does not know whether Zelenskyy himself agrees.

“Russia's fine with it [i.e. the proposal]...But I am not sure that Zelenskyy is fine with it. His people love it. But he is not ready,” Trump said.

Also, the US president reiterated that he believed the resolution of the war in Ukraine would be somewhat easier, but it turned out not to be so. It is a very difficult war, Trump added.
