Balanced and balancing foreign policy is a reality. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this during a press briefing with Armenian reporters in Hamburg, Germany as he listed the countries and capitals he has recently visited: Moscow, Washington, Beijing, Tokyo, Istanbul, France, Germany, Kazakhstan, Sharm El Sheikh, Abu Dhabi, Denmark, and Georgia.

“In the 2021 [Armenian] government program, there is a special section: regionalization. This year I have had meetings and contacts with the leaders of all our neighboring countries — moreover, either [during] working or official visits. There were also conversations on foot, but also within the framework of working and official visits,” Pashinyan said.

“This year, two of our official delegations have already left for Azerbaijan. In the near future, I am also convinced that Azerbaijani delegations will come [to Armenia]. This year a train entered the Republic of Armenia through Azerbaijan. I read in the press that the matter of importing [Azerbaijani] oil products is also being discussed. That is, this is balancing and balanced foreign policy, in which we ultimately have success. Why do we want to give up that success? We must develop this success,” he added.

“We [i.e. Armenia] have said that we are not developing relations with the European Union despite Russia or the EAEU. They were saying: ‘How? How can that be?’ Just like this,” the Armenian premier emphasized.
