Past daily of Armenia writes as follows, in particular: Armenia can become part of the North–South, India–Europe, One Belt, One Road megaprojects. For this, according to Gagik Minasyan, a member of the [former ruling] RPA [party] Executive Body, first of all a favorable geographical position, meeting infrastructure requirements, friendly and trustworthy relations with the main beneficiaries of the projects are necessary. Becoming part of these projects can give the country economic, political, security opportunities.

And what needs to be done to increase our chances of joining these megaprojects? According to Gagik Minasyan, at least several points are necessary, for example: construction of the Meghradzor automobile tunnel and the Vanadzor–Meghradzor tunnel–Hrazdan highway, the Vanadzor–Fioletovo railway, the Hrazdan–Kayan railway section in the area of Haghartsin village located in a landslide-risk-free zone, the Gagarin–Agarak railway. According to estimates, the total cost of implementing these four projects is about 3.852 billion [US] dollars.

In Gagik Minasyan’s conviction, Armenia can offer several routes to the noted megaprojects. In particular, North–South: until the Abkhazian railway is put into operation, from Russia to Georgia via the Black Sea or by highway, then to Armenia. Through Armenia by highway or railway, or by railway and then by highway to Iran, and then to India. Next, India (also Persian Gulf countries) – Europe: India (Persian Gulf countries) – Iran-Armenia. Through Armenia by highway or railway, or by highway and then by railway to Georgia, then the Black Sea-Europe. Finally, One Belt, One Road (Middle Corridor): China-Central Asian states-Caspian Sea-Azerbaijan, then through Armenia or Georgia to Turkey and Europe. Moreover, Europe can also be reached from Georgia via the Black Sea.

At the same time, Gagik Minasyan emphasizes that making Armenia part of the North–South, India–Europe, One Belt, One Road megaprojects should become the task of future national authorities.
