Representatives of Armenia’s Ministry of Defense (MoD), led by Deputy Defense Minister Arman Sargsyan, took part in an event in Geneva, Switzerland titled “Promoting security sector governance and oversight in Armenia,” organized by the Geneva Centre for Security Sector Governance.

The purpose of the event was to deepen mutual understanding and cooperation in security and defense governance, protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms in the armed forces, human rights education, as well as democratic oversight, in line with international norms, values, and best practices, Armenia’s MoD told Armenian NEWS-NEWS.am.

The reforms being implemented in Armenia’s security sector were discussed, and best practices from a number of countries in this sector were presented.
