Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has denied reports that the US had allegedly proposed Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro to leave for Turkey.
"We [i.e. Turkey] have not received such information. Nothing like this has happened," Erdogan said, according to TRT Haber.
Earlier, The New York Times reported that on December 23, US authorities had proposed Maduro to leave his country and go to Turkey, but the Venezuelan leader had rejected this proposal.
