The NATO allies of the US have stopped sharing intelligence with Washington due to President Donald Trump's ambitions regarding Greenland and the deterioration of trust within NATO, Western intelligence sources say, reports I Paper portal.

Trump's proposal to make Greenland join the US is causing divisions within NATO and forcing officials to discontinue sharing classified information with Washington, the portal notes.

According to sources, European intelligence officers have begun to have limited contact with their American counterparts, fearing that the information could reach Trump and be used to attempt to seize Greenland by force.

A British source described the current deterioration in relations between the White House and its allies as unprecedented and noted that the UK has lost its status as a key intelligence-sharing partner of the US, and becoming just a part of Europe in Washington's eyes.
