YEREVAN. – During Armenian capital Yerevan City Hall’s regular consultation meeting, Mayor Taron Margaryan gave a high assessment to the snow removal activities at the capital’s main streets.
“Despite the continuing snowfall, the City Hall and its respective divisions took all the necessary measures, but there still are things to do,” the Mayor noted. He also instructed the prefects of the capital’s administrative regions to concentrate all efforts on removing snow and ice from the sidewalks and the courtyards.
Taron Margaryan also thanked those construction companies and the private sector, which assisted in the snow removal, City Hall Press Service informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.
But the Mayor also noted that even though the roads were drivable during the days of the heavy snowfall, some public transport companies had manifested an unnecessary discretion, and had not provided service.
“The organizations are obligated to secure proper passenger transportation. And those companies which did not carry out their duties will face responsibility, including the revocation of their permits,” Taron Margaryan said.
