Former Tehran Prosecutor Saeed Mortazavi is in charge of the death of at least three participants in last year’s demonstrations against the re-election of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the report by parliamentary commission issued January 10 reads.

According to commission data, Mortazavi insisted that arrested demonstrators should be moved to Kakhrizak camp where they were beaten to death, Radio Liberty reports.

12 prison officers were suspected of implication in assassination of prisoners.

Iranian authorities finally had to close down Kakhrizak camp, dismiss Mortazavi from the post of prosecutor and consent to the commission formation.

Under the report, arrested protesters were kept in extremely poor conditions along with 30 severe offenders.

The report drafters say that the incident discredits Islamic system and demand to punish the guilty regardless their posts, AFP reports.
