YEREVAN. – Armenian farmers from Syunik Region addressed Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan with an open letter, complaining about local authorities.

In a letter, farmers said they had information that the government intended to help the villagers and provide fertilizers and diesel for lower prices. However, the head of local agriculture department supplied his relatives and friends with cheap diesel.

As to farmers, they had to buy diesel at a higher price. Moreover, head of the department sold diesel to the local petrol stations and earned money at the expense of the villagers.

The farmers urged Premier to interfere and stop misuse of resources and provide the diesel and fertilizers at low price as it was decided by the government.
