YEREVAN. – The basis for the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) conflict is the recognition and exercise of Artsakh people’s right to self-determination.

President of the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia, Ara Babloyan, on Wednesday stated the aforementioned at his talk with Thomas Greminger, Secretary General of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), who is visiting the country, the NA informed Armenian News-NEWS.am. Also, Babloyan underscored the continued mediation by the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group to resolve this conflict.

In addition, the parliament speaker stressed that Armenia attaches importance to its collaboration with the OSCE, and expressed the hope that Greminger’s visit to the country will contribute to the development and deepening of this collaboration.

Babloyan reflected also on political events in Armenia.

The OSCE Secretary General, for his part, highlighted that the objective of his visit to Armenia is to expand and strengthen relations and cooperation with the country, and noted that the OSCE will continue to push its cooperation with Armenia forward.

In addition, Thomas Greminger drew attention to the productive cooperation between Armenia and the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (OSCE/ODIHR), and noted that the latter stands ready to assist Armenia in the process of electoral reform.
