TBILISI. – Armenian News-NEWS.am has learned from the embassy of Armenia in Tbilisi that, by the decision of Georgian Finance Minister Ivane Machavariani, wheat and flour can now be imported and exported by motorways via Georgia until the end of this year.

During this period, the Georgian government will make changes in its decision on banning motor transportation of wheat and flour through Georgia.

Even though this decision by Tbilisi had entered into force on September 15, recently it became known that the said ban was put off to October 1.

As reported earlier, several dozens of truck drivers from Armenia blocked the Bagratashen-Sadakhlo customs checkpoint—between the Armenia-Georgia border—recently for two to three hours, in protest of this ban.
