This evening, the Special Investigation Service of Armenia filed a charge against Judge Davit Grigoryan under part 1 of Article 314 of the Criminal Code of Armenia.

Davit Grigoryan’s attorney Yervand Varosyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am that Davit Grigoryan doesn’t accept the charge and has declared that this is linked the two decisions that he rendered in another case during his professional career as a judge.

Yervand Varosyan added that after becoming familiar with the content of the charge filed against Grigoryan, he can claim that that even though the content of the charge doesn’t correspond to reality in many regards, even the text doesn’t contain any factual circumstance attesting to a crime.

“This serves as another occasion to become convinced of the fact that this is not a legal procedure, but simply persecution against the judge and an attempt to suppress other judges. This also helped solve the issue of transmitting the case of second President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan to another judge,” the attorney said.
