Although issues related to Armenia will not be discussed in the course of spring session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, members of the Armenian delegation will raise certain questions regarding Armenia, Nagorno-Karabakh and the South Caucasus.

One of the members of the Armenian delegation, MP from Prosperous Armenia Party, Naira Zohrabyan says she will address certain questions to Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu.

“My speech will be related to Cavusoglu’s intention to resume work of the PACE sub-committee on Nagorno-Karabakh. All the members of the Armenian delegation, representatives of pro-government forces and the opposition, have repeatedly announced their disagreement with this initiative. Position of Prosperous Armenia Party is clear. We think creation of sub-committee is unacceptable. The aim is to adopt anti-Armenian resolution and force to implement it. We will not participate in a game the result of which is pre-determined,” she said.

According to her, she will also raise the question on sending PACE observers to desecrated cemeteries in Jugha and Nakhchivan. “We had to do it back in 2007, but due to blackmail of the Azerbaijani side, mission failed. I will also raise the issue on brutal murder of Armenian shepherd Manvel Saribekyan in Azerbaijani captivity,” the MP added.

The PACE spring session will open on April 11 and will last till April 15.
