YEREVAN. – Within the framework of his working visit to Qatar, Armenian President Armen Sarkissian met with Qatar Airways CEO Akbar Al Baker in Doha, reports the presidential office.

The prospects of expanding this airline’s cooperation with Armenia were discussed during the meeting.

Welcoming Qatar Airways' provision of direct air communication and successful operation between the two friendly countries, President Sarkissian suggested discussing increasing these flights, as well as the possibility of viewing Armenia as a transit flight route.

The Qatar Airways CEO expressed readiness to explore ways to expand cooperation with Armenia, noting that the warm friendly relations between the two peoples, as well as President Sarkissian and Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, provide good grounds for further cooperation.
