Russia and Russian businesses are closely following the events taking place in Armenia. They are closely following the changes and reforms that the country’s leadership is undertaking and the strategies that are being developed in the social, economic, humanitarian and other sectors. This is what Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Armenia Sergey Kopirkin said during a year-end press conference today.

Moreover, he stated that, as a sovereign state, Armenia can choose its partners and consultants, including external consultants. “What is extremely important for Russia and Russian businessmen is to see that the changes being made within the country and in the sectors that are directly linked to our close relations, don’t lead to a dangerous split between all that is being done and our relations. It is obvious that our relations need to adapt to the changing world and the changing realities, but this is a process, especially when we talk about allies, and this needs to imply a careful approach to relations and consideration of each other’s interests, yet steady observance of the principle of sovereign equality of states,” the Russian Ambassador said.
