The Eurasian Union member states’ leaders began a meeting in a narrow composition, TASS reported.

The meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council on Friday is attended by the PMs of Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, as well as Tigran Sargsyan, Chair of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission. Two members of the delegation are present, from the Russian side - Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk and deputy head of the government apparatus Elmir Tagirov.

Leaders took part in joint photography before the meeting. The leaders hold a closed meeting. After that, the premieres will meet in an expanded format.

Eurasian agenda

The agenda of the meeting includes topical issues of the functioning of this association and further improvement of its regulatory framework. Priority attention will be paid to eliminating obstacles in the Eurasian Union domestic market, integrating national information systems, interacting in the areas of customs regulation and forming common union markets.

The Russian government reported that the PMs will also consider the progress of work on a draft agreement on the introduction of supranational regulation in mutual trade of Eurasian Union member states with alcohol products and a number of other issues.
