Foreign direct investment in the Republic of Armenia (RA) has increased dramatically. Babken Tunyan, an MP of the majority “Civil Contract” Faction in the National Assembly, wrote about this on Facebook.

"According to the RA Statistical Committee data, in the first half of 2022, net foreign direct investment (FDI) flows amounted to 76.55 billion drams.

Net flows are the differences between receipts and repayments along the lines of foreign investments during the reporting period. That is, the gross inflow of FDIs is greater.

For comparison, let me note that in the first half of 2021, the net FDI flows amounted to 42.68 billion drams.

Compared to the same period last year, the amount of net FDI flows increased by 33.9 billion drams, or by about 80%," added the member of ruling majority faction in Armenia’s parliament.
