US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken stated during a press conference that Azerbaijan's recent use of force in Nagorno-Karabakh contradicts the ongoing efforts to resolve the conflict.

In light of the events this week, particularly Azerbaijan's military actions, he emphasized that the United States maintained a consistent stance that the use of force is unacceptable. It runs counter to the extensive diplomatic efforts aimed at finding a fair and dignified peaceful solution in the region—a solution that serves the interests of both Azerbaijan and Armenia.

Blinken added that both countries had made significant contributions to this endeavor, including President Aliyev and Prime Minister Pashinyan. The European Union and Blinken himself, according to him, stood in support of these efforts. Therefore, the actions witnessed this week were inconsistent with the progress achieved through diplomatic means, he said.
