On September 22, during the 78th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan held discussions with Mirjana Spoljaric Egger, the President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). This information was provided to NEWS.am by the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The conversations revolved around the current situation in Nagorno-Karabakh. Minister Mirzoyan underscored the urgent need to address the humanitarian challenges stemming from a 9-month blockade and the recent large-scale attack initiated by Azerbaijan on September 19.
In this context, ensuring humanitarian access of relevant international organizations to Nagorno-Karabakh and in particular the unhindered operation of the ICRC, including through unimpeded movement of goods and people in both directions through the Lachin Corridor, was emphasized.
