The visit of the UN representatives to Nagorno-Karabakh was a masquerade, Valérie Boyer, a member of the Republicans faction of the French Senate, the vice-chairman of the France-Armenia friendship group, has said during a program called C dans l'air, Armenpress news agency reports.

"I think Armenia must be protected today, but not through the masquerade that is taking place today [refers to the visit of the UN mission to Nagorno-Karabakh]. Do you have the list of countries selected by Azerbaijan to participate in the mission? "There is no one there [in Nagorno-Karabakh]," said Boyer.

She said that France should recall its ambassador from Azerbaijan and impose sanctions against the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev.

For the first time in thirty years, the UN mission organized a one-day visit to Nagorno-Karabakh and issued a statement following the visit. According to that statement, the UN mission was "shocked by the sudden decision of the population to leave Nagorno-Karabakh".

The statement also mentioned that there was no damage or destruction of civil and agricultural infrastructures, and no dead animals or pets were found.

The representatives of Turkey, Pakistan, Albania, Hungary and Russia were reportedly included in the UN mission that visited Nagorno-Karabakh.
