YEREVAN. – In connection with the 99th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, the capital city Yerevan Municipality staff held visits and provided corresponding assistance to the Yerevan residents who have survived the Genocide.

But their number reduces each year, and there are currently twelve Genocide survivors who live in the city, informed the Municipality Information and Public Relations Department.

“There is a constant attention toward our fellow city residents who have survived the Great Catastrophe. We visit them regularly, [and] provide appropriate support. And the April 24 visits are traditional,” stated Ruzanna Zakaryan, Head of the Municipality Department of Social Security.

For their part, the Armenian Genocide survivors stressed that what’s more important is the good treatment and care toward them throughout the year.
