Presentation of the Italian translation of “Mayrig” (“Mother”), novel by the French Armenian filmmaker Henri Verneuil, who later shot same-name film, will be held in San Marino.

The event will take place on September 30 under the auspices of Culture Secretariat and Embassy of Armenia. The Italian translation was already presented in 2015 at the International Book Salon in Turin.

“The story of the film “Mayrig,” written by filmmaker Henri Verneuil is a subtle poetry, heartfelt story. Behind the lives of people appear memories of nation’s tragedy, aims to eliminate the history and traditions of an entire nation. The novel tells about the horror and hopes of [an Armenian] family, who with smile and dignity, as well as full of the power of love was able to shift to a new life, full of humiliations,” the article reads.

Presentation is organized by Epifanio Troina, with the sponsorship of the Secretary of State for Culture of the Republic of San Marino and the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia.
