Clash between Kurds and local police broke out Dec.6 in Diarbekir, killing one and injuring a policeman, CNNTurk reports. Police clashed with Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) supporters in Mersin as well.

NEWS.am recalls that PKK supporters started rallies on the last day of Kurban Bairam that concurs with the 35th anniversary of PKK establishment. Dozens of protestors are arrested in the country in the course of 5-day rallies.

Turkish oppositional parties accused the authorities of wrong policy on the Kurdish issue.

However, Turkish President Abdullah Gul stated that all the protestors will be arrested.
