YEREVAN. – Liberation of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic’s City of Shushi, 20 years ago, was a significant event, but, having achieved victory at the foreign front, the Armenian people have problems—to put it mildly—at the domestic front. Haykakan Zhamanak daily’s chief editor and the opposition bloc Armenian National Congress (ANC) member Nikol Pashinyan told this to Armenian News-NEWS.am at capital Yerevan’s Victory Park, where he had come to pay tribute to those Armenians who lost their lives during World War II.
In his words, today, it is the Armenian capital Yerevan which needs the liberty achieved in Shushi.
Pashinyan is not of the view that the Armenian people have achieved yet another victory, but this time in the May 6 parliamentary elections.
“If we were to speak about a victory, we can record that the illegitimate, criminal regime achieved a victory over the people [during these elections],” the opposition activist noted.
