YEREVAN. – The key issue after the May 6 parliamentary elections in Armenia is the forming of the Government, chairman Vazgen Safaryan of the Union of Domestic Goods Producers stated during a press conference on Wednesday. Incidentally, Safaryan was an MP candidate from the Communist Party list.

In his view, although the Republican Party is capable of forming a cabinet on its own, based on certain tactical considerations—that is, the forthcoming presidential elections—it will form a government on the principle of a coalition.

“The Cabinet must be formed on the basis of civil accord and solidarity; it must comprise solely specialists. Only the PM must be appointed with the constitutional procedures, and the ministers need to be professionals,” Vazgen Safaryan noted.
