December 22, 2009 Commander of Gendarmerie of Turkish Province Canakkale Onder Halip committed a suicide.
Galip entered his study and shot himself for unknown reasons, Turkish Aksam daily reports. The soldiers heard a shot rang out, rushed to his cabinet and found Halip dead.
