January 9, the farewell ceremony of 40 Armenian peacekeepers leaving for Afghanistan will take place.
Armenian contingent includes 36 infantrymen, 3 officers and a medical officer. They will exercise peacekeeping mission within the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) and join German military unit submitted to the Regional Command North. Armenian troops will provide security of the Kunduz city airport.
