YEREVAN.-On Tuesday Armenian minister of education and science Armen Ashotyan attended a meeting of public schools of Gegharkunik region. The aim of the meeting was to identify the issues at schools and propose their solutions.  Presenting last year’s activity report, chief of education and culture department of Gegharkinik regional council Garik Badalyan touched upon existing issues. The education department of the ministry detected a range of violations regarding the selection process of the directors and teachers. Afterwards directors received a rebuke and the outcomes of teachers’ selections were considered reviewed in several schools.  In his speech Armen Ashotyan mentioned that all elementary school textbooks, including the ones of foreign languages, will be provided free of charge. The ministry will carry out consistent checking of the process.
