YEREVAN. – The closer are the presidential elections, the more media outlets will circulate misinformation, deputy Parliament speaker, secretary of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Edward Sharmazanov told Armenian News-NEWS.am. He commented on the rumors about establishing a Government on national accord after the presidential elections next year. 

“Of course information is false. The RPA has never dealt and will never deal with a political trade,” he said. 

According to him, the RPA has currently two tasks, first to implement reforms in the fields that the President of Armenia has stated, secure seven percent of economic growth, as well as continue fight against corruption. The second task is getting prepared for the congress which will voice the presidential candidate of the RPA, who will be the incumbent President Serzh Sargsyan, Sharmazanov added.

Earlier the agency has informed that Armenian politicians are discussing an issue of the Government formation on national accord after the presidential elections next year. However, there is no precise information on what powers will participate in those discussions or its format. At the same time, Armenian newspaper Haykakan Zhamanak claimed that its own sources inform that the issue of establishing government on national accord is included in the upcoming talks agenda between the PAP leader Gagik Tsarukyan and the President Serzh Sargsyan.
